Your Sail
You will board your private yacht in Tortola for Charters in the British Virgin Islands and St.Maarten for those sailing down island. The itinerary is up to you, or you can leave it all up to your experienced captain. Weather permitting, the itinerary can be changed at any time if you wish to spend more or less time in any area. Unlike a large cruise ship, a charter gives you the flexibility to tailor your vacation to your pace and interests. Throughout your stay you will sail to many of the different islands which make the each area so unique - Norman, Peter, Virgin Gorda, and Jost Van Dyke among a few in the BVI. This includes Anegada, the barrier reef which only experienced skippers are allowed to visit. Anguila and the French Island of St.Barts are two great cruising areas in the vicinity of St.Maarten.
A typical day may begin with a leisurely sail to a quiet cove. Then you may enjoy your time snorkeling, beachcombing, reading, or listening to a CD. All of this right off of your private yacht ! Every member in your group can do what they wish at their own pace, with or without others.
Evenings may be spent dining ashore and dancing to local music, or dining aboard in a secluded bay and enjoying the stars. Throughout your stay your captain will personally show you the unique attractions of the Caribbean.
No sailing experience is necessary !
For those on Fully Crewed and Captain and Yacht charters, your skipper can handle all sailing and anchoring. For experienced sailors, or those that wish to learn, take the wheel and hoist sails as much as you wish ! The Caribbean provides some of the best conditions in the world for sailors of all levels.
When
Although sailing is possible year-round, for the best weather conditions it is strongly recommended to make your visit between early November and mid-June. The minimum length of charter is 7 days. A stay of 10-14 days will give you a good sense of the local island lifestyle and pace.
Provisions - food and beverages.
Fully Crewed charters are all-inclusive with gourmet meals prepared on board by your chef.
For Captain and Bareboat Charters you may supply with food and beverages at the beginning of your charter or purchase a provisioning package to be delivered to your yacht at the start of your charter. Local Knowledge will assist you in shopping at local groceries which provide a variety of food and beverages. You should allow $20-$25 per day per person when eating 3 meals a day onboard. Yachts have fully outfitted galleys and outdoor grills. Throughout your vacation you may choose to enjoy as many dinners ashore as you wish. Local Caribbean cuisine can be found starting at $15.
