Live Music

Performances

Experience performances by the full band and Todd Park Mohr solo in some of the most intimate settings any Big Head Todd and the Monsters fan could wish for. Exclusive shows throughout the week for only the 150 or so fortunate BHTM Cruise passengers will take place onboard the Avalon Vista as well as ashore at select, and many times colorful, venues. As our cruise dates become closer our entertainment schedule will become more apparent. Passengers will receive details in advance on the days and times of anticipated performances for planning purposes but please realize that a big part of these BHTM cruises is the somewhat spontaneous nature of much of the activity and music. We will do our best to keep passengers informed but it is helpful to be flexible (and a lot more fun). We can say that fans who have joined past cruises will tell you that even the most hardcore BHTM fan will be thrilled with this opportunity to hear their favorite music in such unique settings.

Band/Passenger Interaction

With a maximum of 166 passengers (including band and crew), our exclusively chartered river ship the Avalon Vista provides for an onboard atmosphere completely opposite to that found on a large 4,500 passenger mega-cruise ship. The band and band crew share the same public spaces as fellow passengers. Do not be surprised to find a band or crew member saddle-up next to you at the bar, be seated at your table for dinner, or sampling some local "culture" alongside you ashore at a biergarten. The only thing we ask is to please respect band and crew members' space during the week when they appear to be occupied or enjoying some personal time. After all, they are trying to get some vacation time in as well. Otherwise you will find them very receptive to a conversation about the day's port of call or reminiscing about a show from years ago.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters

Founded in Colorado in 1986, Big Head Todd and the Monsters (BHTM) catapulted out of the mountain states and into the national spotlight. With chart-topping singles and engaging live shows, BHTM has sold over two million albums and packed major venues worldwide, including their home state's historic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Most importantly, they've done it the old-fashioned way: with excellent songwriting, scorching guitar and fearless genre melding. In 2011 the band commemorated 100 Years Of Robert Johnson by founding The Big Head Blues Club. Joined by special guests including B.B. King, Charlie Musselwhite, Hubert Sumlin, David "Honeyboy" Edwards and more, BHTM paid tribute to the blues legend both in the studio and on the road.

The longevity of BHTM's career is a testament to the quality of the music. More than a quarter of a century later, fans are still convinced that the best is yet to come. Checkout the band’s latest music and tour info on their website: bigheadtodd.com.

BHTM’s 2023 River Cruise- This sail up the Rhine will be the ninth cruise hosted by the band and the third time they will leave the high seas for the calm waters of a European river. After our wonderful adventures on the Danube in 2019, they are very excited to be exploring Amsterdam and the legendary Rhine River with such a great group of people.
