Big Head Todd and the Monsters will be sailing the magnificent waters of the Rhine River in 2023. Should fans survive their pre-cruise stay in the famed city of Amsterdam and all it offers, our voyage will take us through one of the most cherished regions of river cruising in the world. Explore the Rhine during the day- the terraced vineyards of the Rheingau, the endless hiking trails, and more castles than any other river in Europe. Experience Big Head Todd and the Monsters in the evening- live, up-close and personal full band performances throughout the week both onboard and ashore. Don’t be surprised to also find Todd grabbing a guitar for an intimate solo performance or two. The band and crew will be onboard enjoying all of the sights, sounds, and activities of the cruise right alongside you. Avalon Waterways will once again provide us with our home for the week aboard the luxurious MS Avalon Vista. With a max capacity of only 166 passengers, fans will have the opportunity to fully appreciate the personalized service, fine food, and relaxed comfort only a small ship can provide. We end our journey in the beautiful town of Basel from which passengers have some incredible opportunities for post-cruise adventures to the likes of Zurich, Lake Geneva, Lausanne, Montreaux, Munich (Oktoberfest), and Paris which are all easily accessible by train. This will be our 11th BHTM and Local Knowledge travel adventure since 2005. We hear it said after every one that fans have had the experience of a lifetime and that cannot be disputed- until the next one, and the one after, and the one after that... The Rhine
The Rhine or, depending where you are located, the Rhein, Rhin, Rijn, or Rein is considered by many as the highlight for river cruising in the world. Stretching over 760 mi. from its source in Switzerland to its mouth on the North Sea in the Netherlands, the river flows through six countries; Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Germany, and the Netherlands. We will begin our custom itinerary in Amsterdam and focus not only on the highlight ports, but also the smaller, out-of- the-way locations to experience some local atmosphere. Extended stays in port will be planned when possible and more time will be planned for the Rhine Gorge area.

Sailing with only 166 passengers, the Avalon Vista will gently meander through the waters of the Rhine providing the ultimate platform from which to view the countryside. Wake in the morning and watch the scenery pass by from your bed through the unique panoramic windows that transform your suite into an open-air balcony. Join fellow fans and friends for a beverage in the forward lounge surrounded by the wall-to-wall panoramic windows, or in a relaxing lounge chair up top on the open-air Sky Deck. Avalon is known for it’s fine dining and excellent service as we experienced on our 2019 cruises and we look forward to our return in 2023.

Throughout the week the band will be sharing their friendship and music with fans through one of the most famous rivers in Europe.
